The Getaway Driver is a Random Event introduced in the A Safehouse in the Hills update, released on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
Event Overview
In this Random Event, the player encounters a robber attempting to escape after completing a robbery. The player can choose to pick up the robber and help them evade the police by driving them to their hideout, or kill the robber and take the cash for themselves.
Spawn Conditions
The spawn conditions for the Getaway Driver Random Event are as follows:
- At least 60 minutes must have passed since joining the session.
- If the player is in a vehicle, they must enter within 100 meters of a spawn location. If on foot, within 60 meters. Waiting inside the spawn area for the event to appear does not work.
- The player must not be participating in another mission or event.
- The player must not have an active Wanted Level.
- There is a 20-minute cooldown after completing a Random Event.
- The session type does not matter; a Public Session is not required.
- Any vehicle can be used. However, since the event only triggers within 100 meters of the spawn point, aircraft, helicopters, or the Oppressor Mk II require flying at very low altitude.
- The player may be registered as a CEO or MC President.
Tips for Triggering the Event
● Some overseas sources claim that the event can spawn after 20 minutes in a session, but based on Madara’s testing, at least 60 minutes must pass. If the event does not spawn after 20 minutes, wait until 60 minutes have passed and then visit each spawn location one by one. Do not wait inside the spawn area—be sure to actively move between locations.
● There is a limit to how many Random Events can be active at the same time. If other events such as Exotic Exports or Crime Scenes are active, try to complete or cancel them (for example, by destroying the vehicle). During seasonal events like Halloween or Christmas, many Random Events can appear simultaneously, making it easier to hit the spawn limit.
How to Complete
The Random Event can spawn even if the player is in an aircraft, helicopter, or weaponized vehicle. However, to proceed with the event, the player must be using a vehicle with a functioning horn. Switch to a suitable vehicle if necessary, honk the horn to signal the robber, and let them enter the vehicle. After that, it is possible to switch back to a helicopter or other aircraft to quickly lose the Wanted Level. The time limit for the event is 10 minutes, so be sure to complete it within that time.
