This page is a complete list of official cheat codes you can use in GTA V Story Mode. Cheats differ by platform—PlayStation (PS5/PS4/PS3), Xbox (Series X|S / One / 360), and PC—so each version is listed separately. You can also enter cheats using the in-game cellphone, and the corresponding phone numbers are included as well, so give them a try.

How to Enter Cheats
Using a Controller
If you use a controller (including on PC), you can activate cheats in the following ways.
- Cheat Codes List: Enter the button Cheat Codes List: Enter the button sequence shown in the table. Inputs are not shown on screen.
- To use phone-number input, open the in-game cellphone, choose “Contacts,” then open the dial screen: on PlayStation controllers press □ (Square), on Xbox controllers press X, and on other controllers press the button in the same position.
- Some cheats only activate via phone-number input.
- Input speed does not matter. Cheats can still activate even if you pause briefly between buttons.
- Depending on the cheat, it may expire after a set time, be canceled upon death, or remain active until you leave the session.
- Some cheats can be turned off by entering the same command again, while others change state each time you re-enter them.
- Cheat inputs are accepted even while the pause menu is open (press Options on PlayStation / Menu on Xbox). If you enter a cheat in the pause menu, close the pause menu with the Options/Menu button. If you close it with the cancel/back button, the cheat may not activate. Some cheats may unpause mid-input, but the inputs you entered during pause still count—keep entering the remaining inputs to activate it.
- When entering button sequences, some buttons may fire your weapon (raising your wanted level), or you may jump out of a vehicle if the sequence includes “exit vehicle.” Using phone-number input or entering cheats from the pause menu helps prevent these mistakes.
Using a Keyboard (PC)
If you use a keyboard on PC, you can activate cheats in the following ways. If you use a controller, see “Using a Controller.”
- To enter a cheat, open the console and type the code. On Japanese-layout keyboards, press the “Half-width/Full-width” key twice. On US/English layouts, press the “~ (tilde / backquote)” key or the “
\(backslash)” key twice, then type the cheat into the console. - To use phone-number input, open the in-game cellphone, choose “Contacts,” then press Space to open the dial screen and enter the number.
- Some cheats only activate via phone-number input.
- Depending on the cheat, it may expire after a set time, be canceled upon death, or remain active until you leave the session.
- Some cheats can be turned off by entering the same command again, while others change state each time you re-enter them.
- With keyboard input, cheat commands are not accepted while the pause menu is open. If you want to enter cheats from the pause menu, use a controller.

Cheat Details
What happens when you activate each cheat? Here is a clear explanation of what each cheat does.
Raise Wanted Level
Each time you activate this cheat, your wanted level increases by one star. You can use it up to five times (up to ★★★★★).
Lower Wanted Level
Each time you activate this cheat, your wanted level decreases by one star. You can repeat it as long as you have any stars.
Fast Run
You can run faster.
Fast Swim
You can swim faster.
Invincibility (5 Minutes)
You become invincible for 5 minutes and your health will not decrease.
Slow Motion Aim
While aiming a weapon, everything slows down, making it easier to line up shots. Each activation increases the slow-motion level up to 3 stages. The 4th activation turns it off.
Max Health & Armor
Restores your health and armor to full. This uses the same command as “Repair Vehicle.” If you enter it while in a vehicle, it will repair the vehicle and fully restore your health and armor at the same time.
Repair Vehicle
The command is the same as “Max Health & Armor.” If you enter it while in a vehicle, it repairs the vehicle and restores your health and armor at the same time. On consoles, if you enter the button sequence while seated in a vehicle, the sequence includes the “exit vehicle” button (△ / Y), so you may hop out mid-input. To avoid that, start the sequence while on foot, and when you reach △ (Y), get into the vehicle as you continue entering the rest of the inputs. Alternatively, entering the cheat via the in-game phone avoids this issue.
Ability Recharge
Refills your special ability meter to full.
Drunk Mode
Enables drunk mode. Enter it again to return to normal.
Explosive Melee Attacks
Your punches and kicks cause explosions on impact. Be careful—if you hit a vehicle, you can get caught in the blast.
Explosive Bullets
Your bullets explode on impact, greatly increasing damage. You can destroy vehicles with a single shot.
Flaming Bullets
Your bullets ignite targets, setting people and vehicles on fire.
Skyfall
You spawn high in the sky in freefall. You won’t have a parachute, so it’s mostly just for fun (and likely a quick death).
Super Jump
Increases jump height. Hold the jump button to jump even higher.
Comet
Spawns the Comet sports car.
Rapid GT
Spawns the Rapid GT sports car.
Duke O’Death
Spawns the Duke O’Death muscle car. You must complete the “Duel” random event to use this cheat.
Golf Caddy
Spawns a golf cart.
Stretch
Spawns the Stretch limousine.
Trashmaster
Spawns the Trashmaster garbage truck.
BMX
Spawns a BMX bike.
PCJ-600
Spawns the PCJ-600 motorcycle.
Sanchez
Spawns the Sanchez dirt bike.
Buzzard
Spawns the Buzzard attack helicopter.
Duster
Spawns the Duster plane.
Mallard
Spawns the Mallard stunt plane.
Dodo
Spawns the Dodo seaplane. You must complete the “Sea Plane” random event to use this cheat.
Kraken
Spawns the Kraken submersible. You must complete Franklin’s “Wildlife Photography Challenge” to use this cheat.
Give Parachute
Gives you a parachute.
Give Weapons / Ammo
Refills ammo for the weapons listed below. Note that not every weapon is refilled. Each time you enter the cheat, the listed ammo amounts increase.
- SMG +300 rounds
- Micro SMG +300 rounds
- Assault Rifle +300 rounds
- Carbine Rifle +300 rounds
- Shotgun +150 shells
- Sawed-Off Shotgun +150 shells
- Sniper Rifle +30 rounds
- RPG +5 rockets

Change Weather
Each time you enter the cheat, the weather cycles in this order: Extra Sunny → Sunny → Cloudy → Smoggy → Overcast → Rainy → Thundery → Clearing → Snowing.
Slidey Cars
Makes vehicles slide more easily when turning. Enter it again to return to normal handling.
Slow Motion
Puts the game in slow motion. Each activation increases the slow level up to 3 stages. The 4th activation turns it off.
Moon Gravity
Reduces gravity, making you (and vehicles) hang in the air longer after jumping. The effect is easiest to notice when launching off bumps or hitting people/objects with a car.
Black Cellphone
After an explosion effect above your head, your cellphone theme turns black/gray. You can switch it back via Phone > Settings > Theme. This cheat only works via phone-number input.
Important Notes When Using Cheats
When using cheat codes, keep the following important points in mind.
Notes on Using Cheat Codes
- Using cheats disables trophies/achievements. (*Note 1)
- You may not be able to spawn vehicles in tight spaces or under a roof.
- Cheats can’t be used during missions or certain side activities. Previously activated cheats may also be disabled when those activities start.
- You can take your time entering the command; it doesn’t have to be lightning-fast.
- Some cheats only work via phone-number input.
- Cheats are disabled if you die, restart the game, or reload a save.
To re-enable trophies/achievements, you must restart the game or reload your save. If you die, cheats are disabled, but trophies/achievements will still remain disabled in that session. In other words, once you use a cheat, you cannot earn trophies/achievements until you restart or reload.
