A weight ranking table of all vehicles featured in GTA 5 and GTA Online.

In general, heavier vehicles affect handling, acceleration, and top speed, but in GTA 5 and GTA Online, vehicle weight does not influence these aspects (excluding passenger weight). It only affects the damage dealt to other vehicles or objects upon collision. The heavier the vehicle, the more it can knock opponents away and deal greater damage during a collision. Conversely, when hit, heavier vehicles are less likely to be pushed away and tend to stay in place.

Therefore, heavier vehicles can provide an advantage in races during contact situations and can also be used in missions to push other vehicles from behind to help them accelerate.
